Abby Herrick is a registered and licensed dietitian with over 11 years of experience in the fitness field. In addition to her role at Fit4D, Abby works as a bariatric dietitian working with obese patients who suffer from a wide variety of health concerns. Abby utilizes behavior modification and motivational interviewing techniques to assist her clients to set goals, develop lifestyle changes and build upon their successes to maintain their goals over the long-term. Abby finds that developing meal plans and exercise programs for individuals who are 500 or more pounds over weight and who suffer from numerous co-morbidities can be challenging and very rewarding.
Abby is a Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. Being a fitness instructor for over 10 years working with a variety of fitness levels and age groups has helped her to improve her ability to adapt fitness programs to individual’s needs. Abby’s certification through the ACSM has made her especially knowledgeable and interested in sports nutrition and post recovery from injuries. She graduated from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Abby’s dietetic internship was completed at Saint Louis University and she is currently working on a masters in a related health field, with a particular interest in preventive health, holistic and naturopathic medicine and nutrition.
Abby enjoys mountain biking, Hot Power Vinyasa Yoga, Boxing, and strength training.
